Chapter Three

Jingle had flown for what seemed to be only twenty minutes, when we entered an area that was covered in deep snow everywhere.  "Jingle, do you think we've reached the North Pole yet?"

Jingle started heading towards the ground, and lightly set her hooves in the deep snow.  She plowed through the snow a few more feet.  I could see nothing to indicate we were at the North Pole, when a light caught my eyes.  It was a red light, it seemed to be coming out of the ground.  Then I saw a large red ball glowing with light, coming out of the ground.  It was attached to a red and white striped pole, that was decorated with a large red bow.  An elf came and pulled on the pole, and a door opened into what had appeared to be a gigantic boulder covered in snow.

"It's the North Pole!" I exclaimed to Jingle.

The elf motioned for us to enter the doorway, and Jingle did not hesitate.   Once we were inside, two elves helped me dismount Jingle.

"We're the reindeer keepers.  We'll be happy to feed and bed your horse, while you visit," one of the two spoke to me.

"Okay, thanks.  See you later, Jingle!"  I patted her, just before they led her to the stalls.  Another elf then approached me.

"Hello, my name is Geva.  I will be your guide.  Now, you have come to choose a gift for the Christ Child.  Do you have something in mind, or would you like to just look around and get some ideas?"

While she was talking, I was looking around at my surroundings.  I was in a room that led to many rooms with elves coming in and out of it.  The walls were white, but they glistened with sparkles, just like snow.  Huge candy canes were the poles used as beams to support the walls, and holly leaves and berries were painted on the walls as trim around the doorways, that had no doors.  It was beautiful.  All the elves were dressed up in red and green, pink and blue, and purple too.  They also wore jingle bells on their caps and shoes.
