First Stare

My eyes meet his eyes,
for the very first time,
and already we know...
We are speaking volumes
without saying a word,
in only that first stare
we bestow.

While, I ponder that he’s
reading my soul, comes the
slight touch of his hand,
finding the back of my forearm,
setting my heart on fire
with an urge of demand.

Anything he would cue to me,
or tell me in command,
I would have to obey him,
for he has cast me
under his spell of euphoria,
freezing all my logic,
warming my senses
to only his whim.

All laws seem to dissipate,
and morals, what are they?
Nothing exists now,
but the pulse in my blood
threatening to explode
into tiny shimmers of
promised ecstasy nearing my way.

His hands, here they come,
encircling my waist.
Logic screams, “Run!”
What was that?
I cannot hear anything,
for frozen logic is as
silent as solid water,
frozen, unable to run.

His hands press me against him,
while his eyes, continue
to possess me.
His eyes tell me the future,
where a kiss is promised,
and I wait eagerly,
fighting only time
to make it pause here, eternally.

His left hand begins
a delicate path up my waist,
its destiny to caress
that which makes me a woman,
and sweetly from there,
he traces a new path
to my face.

His eyes never leave mine,
and with them we continue
to reacquaint, for surely
we have known each other forever,
as our souls began to dance
in recognition upon immediate
notice of the other.

“This is right,” his eyes tell me,
and my soul quickly agrees.
“Let’s bond it, or we’ll miss
this, allowing it to pass us by,
for reasons unknown to us now,
that we will remember again,
in our absence, you and I.”

And so, as his lips reached mine
I signed my name on the dotted line,
to unite with this man,
in heart and love to share,
and so we sealed the contract,
with our very
First Stare.
