To win the Purrfect Site Award the Cats have set some standards! >^..^<
*No Adult or hatred or political sites
*No Sites too busy with multiples of banners and/or links - you can have banners and
links, but if that is the main foundation of your site - please, don't apply.
*No more than two pop ups - if you have more - don't apply.
Here's what the Cats are looking for in winning sites:
Originality +2
Creativity +2
Organization +2
Content +3
Easy Link Accessiblity +2
Easy Navigation +2
A Continous Theme +2
Contact info. +1
Illegible Links -2
Wide page scrolling to side -1
Slow Loading -1
Too many graphics -2
Font too small - 2
Font too light or dark for background to read -2
Website has not been updated this year 2001 -2
For every three dead links -1
For Script Errors - 2
16 = Purrfect Score!
10 & Above - Wins Award
Less than 10 - Can Try Again after Upgrades
Why have the Cats set these standards? They do not wish to put their paw print of approval
for a site that they would quickly leave because of the above negatives.
For example, excessive pop ups aggravate viewers, who may already have several windows
open as it is. Also, there's nothing more frustrating than to see something promised on
the homepage, and you cannot find the link! Easy navigation will keep the viewers
lingering and will encourage them to return. If they cannot find what you have to offer,
they're going to leave and not return.
Too small font or too light font against the background, or too dark font against the
background makes it very hard to read. Computers strain the eyes as it is, don't strain
your visitor's eyes more!
If you don't win the award, look at this as an opportunity to find out what may be turning
your traffic away, and repair it to retain your traffic.
